"We will start to see more and more people prepared to hear the gospel"

Dear Family and friends,

I never know what to tell you all. All I have to talk about is missionary work... which isn't really all that exciting I know. I guess the highlight of the week was that we went to the temple! Yeah! I love the temple. Oh another highlight the Johnson family are active and the dad baptized his kids! I got to go back and witness it. I was so happy. but moment on the mission and I wasn't even there to teach them all the way. Also we had stake conference and our investigator phil henley came! Very surprising. And the whole thing was all about the BOM. I think it will really help him. and he met a bunch of older guys like him that ride motorcycles like him. I think he really likes the society. We talked about the WOW and he said he could give up everything alcohol and tobacco but coffee would be his hard part. Its a process. Wanda Brady is still as stubborn as usual she still wont pray in front of us and doesn't really want to come to church. But she did commit to coming to church this next week. She knows she needs to be baptized. I know she does.

The Musser's didn't come to church. These people want answers to there prayers but they are not doing there part to get an answer. God wont just tell them without them doing there work. and I try to help them see that they must read, pray and come to church and really have a desire for there answer. So another week goes by and I know what I need to teach them now.

6 weeks in Sandy already. A full transfer has passed and it feels like yesterday that I got here. Elder Dresen is picking up missionary work very fast. He's really good at doing the correlating. I let him be in charge of it and that's most of the work right now. And he's doing much better with talking to people. More relaxed.

So elder Holland did come and speak to us and he was talking about the increase and hastening of the mission. Missionary work has to change because it is not going as fast is it should. I really think we will start to see more and more people prepared to hear the gospel. We only have to ask. This past week a few less actives decided to meet with us. There neighbors didn't even know that they would have been interested. They just didn't ask. Well its rainy today so we will be playing basketball inside. Love you all Take care.

Mother's Day

Dear friends and family,
Well this will be kinda short because i did get to call home home yesterday. It was a nice mothers day. Went to 3 programs, and i wasn't missing mom at all! NOT! haha but its alright. i stole some flowers from the wards so i could hand them out to people. For mothers day of course.
This past week we picked up 4 investigators but they all have something that is holding them back from baptism... legal stuff. divorces suck. ruining peoples salvation.
This last week Elder Holland came and talked with us and gave us some powerful statements. There is a lot of hinting towards some big stuff coming. I know we are going to see a lot of missionary working going on soon. We have a sacred calling! I'm doing well and I'm going to enjoy my pday again.

"Time goes on"

Dear Family and friends,

Another week goes by. It is great to hear from everyone. Sounds like there is lots of excitement going on in my family as well as around everyone. Which is really good. Its so great that the weather is getting warm. I love not wearing my suit. i feel like it restricts me.

So the work goes on. We are trying some new tactics that hopefully will pay off in some really great dividends. We can't really tract here and everyone knows us especially here in sandy because the majority are members so we are forcing the ward mission process. We find people and ask others to make the invitations. So far we haven't found anything but there is not much else we can can do but rely on the ward and work hard. This is a very different aspect of missionary work that I'm not really use to. It's hard because I have to wait... I can't expect things to change all at once. SO time goes on.

Last week we went hiking for PDay. We are right next to the mountains on the other side of the valley from kearns so that was fun. Only a few people from the zone went but they were my favorites. I really like our zone leaders. They are great guys.

We had some disappointments this last week. We had two people drop us. They both just decided they were not interested any more. Which is always really sad. I always feel bad and wish there was something more i can do to help them But i know that there isn't.

Well not much happened here. Oh mom your supposed to look on the mission blog for a mothers day gift. But not until mothers day... and I don't know who I'm going to skype from but I'll figure it out before mothers day. haha

Love you All

Dear Families,
I would like to share this picture with you of the kind and delightful Elders that helped us move today. They worked really hard and carried all the heavy furniture for us. We were so fortunate to receive their help.
Sincerely,
Tilman and Amanda

Dear Family and Friends,

Man what a conference weekend right!?!? I definitely get more out of conference on the mission. I didn’t even fall asleep! haha there were a bunch of talks that I really enjoyed and I’m thankful to be able to study them in the coming weeks. I was even able to go to Saturday afternoon session with an investigator and I didn’t see anyone I knew! Thank goodness. I am always worried when I go to temple square or conference that I will see someone. Our investigator really liked it. She got baptized yesterday. I forgot my camera or I would send some cool pictures.

We had an interesting week. The Johnson’s, who I’ve been trying to teach for a long time, finally let us teach them as a family! And boy was the lesson powerful or what! Probably the most tender the most powerful and the best lesson I’ve ever been in. They have two kids, ones 8 and the other is 11 and both were so smart or not going to church. They both bore their testimonies to their parents and they were willing to keep all the commitments we gave them. I think it really surprised the parents. I definitely think the Lord knew which kids to give to this family. They will be a strong addition to the ranks of the Lord.  Truly those two kids were generals in the ranks of Gods army in the pre earth life.

With the spring here we are talking to a lot more people. There are way too many people that want to bash; and I have to resist. The biggest problem is they are all sinning ignorantly- actually not even ignorantly they don’t want to know what is right so they choose not to learn and then they lie to themselves that they are okay and then they begin to believe it.  It’s like people are willfully rebelling.

We finally get to take off our jackets! We no longer have to wear them all the time. So now when it’s hot we just have on short sleeves. Today was super rainy and we still didn’t wear jackets. This transfer just came to a close. So I’ve spent 5 transfers here in Kearns. There is a high probability that I will be transferred. But who knows. I like this area and we are very successful here.  There’s a rumor that I’m going to West Jordan west zone.  But that’s a rumor.  I don’t really know who started it.
So I met a lady that might know Mark Salmon. She said she played rook with a Mark Salmon in Ricks College.  I couldn’t definitely tell her if it was uncle mark because I didn’t know him when he looked young haha. Also did our relatives own the Salmon funeral home in Cardston? (Just some questions).

I’m still loving the mission!  It’s crazy to be a part of the big jump in missionaries. I’m glad I got out right before. I will just be training this army and leading this army. And I’m excited for it. The new missionaries are going to be great. I love that the work is hastening.

Hope everyone is good.
